Ultimate Hits Collection follows the path of Charles ' work as it cruises through the genres he so richly influenced: R&B, pop, jazz, blues, and country. The standard favorites are here from Charles ' repertoire, but what sets this compilation apart are the lesser-known tracks.

It was a #1 R&B hit for American recording artist Ray Charles. The single was released shortly after Charles was released from rehab after a year heroin addiction. Charles heard a recording of the song by Ronnie Milsap. According to Milsap, Charles liked his version of the song so much that he decided to record it himself.
